+ What Exactly Can I Do?
The sky is the limit when it comes to information systems engineering for me. I will go as far into the sciences as completely virtualizing communications businesses. I have the will, and I know the way, and if I don't I WILL find a WAY. That's the way I see it. I'm going to use one of my past collaberative projects as an example of some of my engineering work and progress. So I will start with this story in the proceeding segment!
+ The Revolution in Broadcasting Called Revolution Broadcasting!
Early 2008 I started doing some collaborative web design work with an associate of mine known as Raymond Powell. He was running a broadcast out of his house using shoutcast, and he was hosting his own show on it along with a couple of other hosts that would collaborate on bridging this broadcast. It started off as Ron Paul Radio. Yes, it has it's liberal roots, why not it's how good things start. Anyways, he asked me if I could figure out a way we could have a system allow hosts to call in and do their shows and have all their music and commercials setup to automatically play in sync with everything so he or any of the other hosts wouldn't have to DJ the broadcast 24/7. So that idea set into play months and months of broadcast research and technology assessments. After about 4 months of learning broadcasting, and trial and error with hosts coming and going and events sucking the broadcast stream down the pipes by the thousands at times we made it. What is now RevolutionBroadcasting.com was once a small duct tape, pass it on, at home Ron Paul Radio broadcast on the net.
Now it is a fully automated system and website that hosts can control their shows, manage the automatic archiving of their shows and promote events. The system allows hosts to call in during thier shows and automatically plays their intros and bumpers with commercial breaks and automatic execution and it records the show and gives them the ability to archive it as a podcast onto the website. Hosts could litterally host a show with as little as an internet connection and a skype compatible headset. No expense to them what-so-ever. And as for managing the system, it runs itself. It takes care of all the hosts shows, the commercials, the archiving, the recording, it's an honor to see where it has come what it has done and what it is.
The broadcast system is running on three machines named Audiobox, Shoutbox, and Skypebox. They are remotely controlled and maintained through the web and they cooperate with the website servers too. The broadcast runs 24/7 and has 14 shows running with many hosts all week long and has been recognized by senators, congressmen and women, senatorial, presidential, congressional candidates, authors and has broadcast live presidential and congressional debates worldwide and at times exclusively!
